| Violence is totally unacceptable: Tarigami | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11 : Expressing anguish over the fresh civilian killings in Rafiabad and Kulgam, CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami has said violence in any form is not only condemnable but unacceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Tarigami has urged all the political leaders irrespective of their ideological and political affiliations to put up joint efforts for ending every shade of violence in the state. "Violence in any form proves totally counterproductive harming the cause of people. Strongly condemning the killing of Ashiq Hussain a youth from Laiser Rafiabad, the CPI (M) state secretary has said such incidents not only create a sense of insecurity among people but further vitiate the hard gained peaceful atmosphere in the state.
Expressing sympathies with the family of Ashiq the MLA Kulgam said the government must act to nab the culprits and bring them to justice without playing any rhetoric's. While referring to the killing of Gulzar Ahme d Dar the Sarpanch of Hawoora (Mishipora) Kulgam, Tarigami said such heinous acts are highly condemnable and asked the state not to shy away from its responsibilities of ensuring safety and security of the village level representatives. "If the village level representatives feel insecure, then how can we dream of strengthening democratic institutions at the grass root level," Tarigami stressed |
