HC suspends sentence, bail granted to cop in Corruption case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: In a appeal filed by Mohd Ashraf Bhat Head Constable who was awarded seven years imprisonment by the Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu for making fake appointments, Jammu & Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing suspended the sentence imposed by the Special Judge Anticorruption and admitted bail on his furnishing personal and surety bond to the tune of Rs 20,000 to the satisfaction of the Special Judge. Justice JP Singh of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing today suspended the sentence imposed by the Special Judge Anticorruption admitted bail on his furnishing personal and surety bond to the tune of Rs 20,000 to the satisfaction of the Special Judge. Court further ordered that the release of appellant shall, however be subject to deposit of fine Rs 10,000 with the Special Judge. According to the case file a letter dated December 7, 2001 regarding alleged fake orders to have been issued from PHQ vide which 10 candidates of Jammu Division have been appointed as constables in J&K Auxiliary Police II Bn Jammu. On receipt of this letter an FIR was registered. (JNF) |
