JAMMU , Feb 11 : IASE deemed university in association with Gandhi Vidya Mandir inaugurated a three-day International seminar from Ferbruary 11 to February 13, on Teacher Education for Peace and Harmony at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, New Delhi today with the supporting organizations Gujarat Vidhyapeth, Jain Vishva Bharati University, the Temple of Understanding and National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha' is of India and Global Harmony Association, Russia. At inaugural ceremony, Dr Sead Avdic, Bosnia-Herzegovina Ambassador to India , Kanak Mal Dugar , Chancellor, IASE Deemed University , President, Gandhi Vidya Mandir and Chairman, International Seminar Committee on Teacher Education for Peace and harmony , Dr Charles Merceica, President , International Association of Educators for World Peace, US , Dr Leo Semasco, Global Harmony Association, Russia Kiran Yadav, member of Parliament of Nepal , M L Bhatt, vice chancellor, IASE deemed university , Sudharsan Layengar, vice chancellor , Gujrat Vidhayapeeth , Sawami Somgiri Ji Maharaj , Sharamani Charitra Pragya Ji , vice chancellor, Jain Vishv Bharti were present. Apart all these guests of honour around 600 delegates from America, Russia, Switzerland, Romania, Spain, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Africa apart from India participated for sharing their point of view on the importance of peace and harmony in life with the Education. Dr Sead Avdic, Bosnia-Herzegovina Ambassador to India, observed that education is a better safeguard of liberty than arms. . Dr Avdic also thanked India for maintaining peaceful relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina. Dr Charles Mercieca, president, International Association of Educators for World Peace, while sharing experience of long-time association with UNESCO, said,''for permanent peace, we have to start education with parents at home and teachers at schools.'' Recalling the devastation which occurred due to violence in his native country Malta, Dr. Mercieca said, " Many countries unleashed military power even on their own citizens to follow just a single man's authoritative behaviour. However, at the same time they pretend to raise the voice against rights violations in other countries. |
