Two suspected ultras, one Pak woman among six arrested | | | Sumit Sharma Jammu, Feb 11: Six persons including two suspected militants and a Pakistan based woman were arrested from a city based hotel in a raid that was conducted by Special Operation Group here at late night. Meanwhile, police also busted a trans border smuggling bid and arrested youth in a naka that was laid on Ploura road and recovered 10 packets of heroine valuing crores in international market. The arrested has been identified as one Ranjeet Kumar son of Balkrishan of village Sianth, Khour. The youth bought the consignment from one Rakesh Kumar of Khour. The manhunt was on to arrest the latter. The consignment was brought from Pakistan, sources within police said. Meanwhile in special raid conducted by sleuths of SOG (Special Operation Group) following information of an intelligence agency about presence of two Pak trained ultras in Jammu city via Nepal the SOG team apprehended six persons from Bus stand locality. Sources said, "The identification of two militants has been established as Abdul Mazid and Nazir Ahmed of Lattipura, Budgam." Sources said that while Abdul Mazid during preliminary questioning admitted that he went to Pakistan in 1995 while Nazir revealed that he went there in the year of 1999. "Both confessed that they received arms training in Pakistan and after getting training Abdul got married with Asma of Karachi. The couple had three children, sources said further adding that all of them were arrested from Hotel Diamond, situated in the Jewel Chowk locality falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad Police station. During questioning, sources said, the arrested persons admitted that they reached Jammu a couple of days ago from Nepal and from where they had to reach to Srinagar. They also mentioned that they were waiting for one Salamat Butt of Sopore who was expected to help them for their further journey to Srinagar. Meanwhile, sources have revealed that the Salamat Butt was also arrested by police. They were booked with Nowabad Police Station where their sustained questioning is in progress to reach the depth of the case. |
