Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 11: Hours after Party high command rejected Peerzada Syeed's resignation National Conference criticized Syed for 'violating' the state constitution. Senior National Conference senior leader and former spokesperson Dr Mustafa Kamal while terming the resignation move as an absolute violation of state constitution told that the congress minister undermined the Chief Minster's chair.''
Senior NC leader Kamal said that Peerzada was not resigning from his parent party but from the cabinet which was headed by Omar Abdullah and thus he ought to submit his resignation to Chief Minister but to his party chief.
"He not only has violated the constitution of state under which he got oath administrated but also has violated the discipline of state cabinet, said NC leader known for his outspoken nature.
Maintaining that there is a wedge between the different factions of state congress Kamal said, "They don't like each other. If this were not the case then the Peerzada should have tendered his resignation to the PCC(I) Chief Prof Soz."
Kamal further added Azad camp and Soz camp within the Congress are known for the ongoing groupism and this episode will further harm not only the coalition but also to the interests of the two allies.
"While we need to work for the strengthening the coalition such incidents would only harm the two sides instead of bonding the coalition, Kamal added.
Ridiculing the manner Peerzada resigned and the same was rejected by non other but AICC (I) Chief Sonia Gandhi, NC leader quipped, "Doing so he (Peerzada) not only has violated the constitution of state but also has challenged the integrity of the PCC(I) chief as under party's constitution he has to sent his resignation to PCC(I) Chief."
He accused Peerzada of bypassing state congress chief Professor Saif-ud-Din Soz and reaching out directly to New Delhi for putting in his papers.
Norms are set in the constitution which suggest that any cabinet member is required to submit his resignation to Chief Minster who forwards it to Governor for final acceptance,'' told the NC fire brand leader.
