| 5 gamblers arrested | | | Srinagar|Jan 17
Karan Nagar Police today arrested five gamblers from Kak Sarai area of Srinagar city, after they were found gambling in a lane.
Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that following frequent complaints being received by the police about some youth indulging in gambling in the area, a team led by SHO Karan Nagar, Mushtaq Ahmed raided Kak Sarai area and arrested five gamblers, who were openly gambling in a lane.
The arrested have been identified as Jan Mohammed Sofi son of Mohammed Sultan of Shah Mohalla Nawa Bazaar, Nazir Ahmed Parry son of Abdul Rehman resident of Kak Sarai, Mehraj-ud-Din Koul son of Gh. Rasool resident of Bagiyas and two brothers Muzaffar Jan Sofi and Waseem Sofi, sons of Mohammed Sultan, of Kak Sarai.
An amount of Rs 3500 used as bet was also recovered from their possession, Sources added.
