108 cancer related patients examined

JAMMU, Feb 12: In the 21st free medical camp organized by Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, here today 108 patients suffering from cancer related ailments were examined by the renowned Oncologist of the country, Dr. Ashok Vaid.
Free medical camps organized by Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust are held every month, at the spacious residential premises of Pawan Kumar Shastri, President Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust. This was the 19th visit of Dr. Ashok Vaid, Chairman Institute of Oncology Medinta-The Medicity, Gurgaon, to give free check up and consultation to cancer patients.
Besides free medical check up and consultation given to 108 cancer related patients, today, Dr. Ashok Vaid also distributed free prescribed, imported medicines worth Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to the needy patients.
Raman Bhalla, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation who graced the camp by his visit, felicitated Dr. Ashok Vaid, the son of soil, who has been rendering free service to the people of Jammu, by visiting here every month to give free checkup and consultation to the cancer patients.
He also felicitated, Dr. Deepak Abrol, a doctor in Oncology department of Government Medical College Jammu and Archina Choudhary, working in SKUAST, Jammu for regularly assisting Dr. Ashok Vaid, in his humanitarian and benevolent venture.
Raman Bhalla said that by acquiring a prominent place in the Medical profession, Dr. Ashok Vaid, who originally belongs to Jammu, has made Jammu proud. He also congratulated Pawan Shashtri, President JYBT, who motivated and inspired Ashok Vaid to come every month to Jammu to give free service to the cancer patients here.
He also appreciated JYBT for taking humanitarian and welfare programmes.
Pawan Shastri discloses that gradually full fledged outdoor health facility centre is being setup by Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, fully equipped with X-ray equipment, Ultra-sound and other necessary aids.
