| Symposium Role of youth in Environmental Protection held | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: District Information Centre, Udhampur organized a symposium on the topic "Role of youth in Environmental Protection" in the premises of Govt. Girls High School (GGHS) Udhampur. As many as 10 Students of the host school participated in the contest and expressed their views on the topic. Headmaster of the school Mrs Miridula Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. Anuradha of 9th class clinched first position in the contest while Radha Manhas of 9th class and Rozy Chowdhary of 9th bagged second and third positions respectively in the contest. Consolation prizes were given to Suman of 9th class and Nizma of 9th class. The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit. While speaking on the occasion chief guest appreciated the efforts of Information Department to hold such contest in the school. She said that such type of contest would definitely provide a platform to budding student to channelize their talent in right direction. She urged for holding more such programmes in educational institutions for the general awareness of youngsters about the need of Environmental Protection. Headmistress requested the department to organize such more programmes in the near future also. On the occasion a captivating cultural programme was also organized to aware the public about their noble responsibilities for the protection of environment. Teacher, Sartia Sharma of the host institution conducted the proceedings of the programme and presented vote of thanks. |
