JAMMU, Feb 12: Two-day veteran athletics meet, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Veteran Athletics Association, got underway at MA Stadium here. Over 100 veteran athletes of the state are competing in different field and track events in this meet.
The competition was supervised by penal of officials including Sohan Singh, Shamsh-ud-Din, Gurcharan Singh ad Baljinder Pal Singh. The meet was declared open by Congress leader, Surinder Singh Singhari while SSP Jammu, Prabhat Singh was guest of honour.
Meanwhile, the opening day witnessed competition in different events of all age groups. But in most of the age categories of men and women, there was poor presence of athletes. And, to encourage those who have entered themselves for the competition, the organizers allowed them to compete and awarded them places.
