NCC, GCC reach QFs of JPL Tawi Cup | | | early times report UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: Winning their respective matches, National Cricket Club (NCC) and Garhi Cricket Club (GCC) today moved into the quarterfinals of the ongoing district level Jammu Premier League Tawi Cup Tournament at Subash Stadium, here. In the pre-quarterfinals, played today, NCC trounced Kings XI by seven wickets. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Kings XI bowled out for 67 runs. Sahil was top scorer with 14 runs while Rajeev Singh and Gopal Singh took three wickets each from NCC. In reply, NCC attained the goal in 11 overs for the loss of three wickets. Arun and Varun were top scorers with 22 and 14 runs in their respective accounts. Rajeev Singh was adjudged man of the match. The second pre-quarterfinal of the day was won by Garhi Cricket Club (GCC) outplaying Dogra Cricket Club (DCC) by 19 runs. Batting first, GCC set a target of 115 runs for the loss of eight wickets in given 20 overs with Balbir Singh being top scorers. Balbir scored first half century of the tournament to be named as man of the match. Rakesh and Kaful shared two wickets each from Dogra Club. Later, Dogra Club could not attain the goal and exhausted their quota of allotted overs for 95 runs losing six wickets. Kafil was maximum scorer with 30 runs in his account. From GCC, Yashal took two wickets. |
