Declining sex ratio a great cause of concern for society: Experts | One-day re-orientation workshop for USG clinic owners | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Feb 12 - A one-day Workshop for Re-orientation of CMOs, DPMs and owners of Registered Ultrasound Clinics of Kashmir Division for online filling of Form-F was organized by the J&K Rural Health Mission, here today. Mission Director J&K NRHM, Dr Yashpal Sharma, who inaugurated the work shop informed the delegates about the declining child sex ratio, which is a major concern for the State since it would lead to serious socio cultural problems including gender imbalance in population. He said this is a serious issue and a wakeup call for all, especially for the Government. He said the society is heading towards a social imbalance and collective efforts are required to tackle this sensitive issue. He maintained that declining sex ratio should not be seen only as govern-ment's responsibility, but also of the civil society, religious heads and preachers of the society and they should use their influence and contribute for the social cause. He briefed the delegates about the issues pertaining to the online filling of Form-F under PC & PNDT Act and said the aim of organizing workshop was to sort out the problems being faced by the concerned. It is mandatory for every ultrasound clinic to fill up the said form for every pregnant woman who comes for the ultrasonography in the clinic. He said that the form is also available online at the web portal of statewww. pcpndt jk. in. Surinder Sharma, who is also the Resource Person in the workshop and maintaining the website, gave a detailed presentation and live demonstration on online filling of Form-F. Later, a meeting of District Programme Managers (DPMs) and Block Programme Managers (BPMs) of Kashmir Division was also convened and chaired by the Mission Director to sort out the issues regarding the uploading of data on HMIS/MCTS web portals in order to improve the quality and quantity of data. Mohd Kamil and Mr Krishna Bhardwaj, HMIS Consultants from New Delhi provided the feedback on HMIS and MCTS of the State and Kashmir Division in particular. In addition the District Health Action Plans and Block Health Actions Plans of all the districts were discussed at length and short falls were identified and on spot directions were given to rectify the mistakes immediately before submitting to State Health Mission. |
