| Man, wife held for selling illicit liquor | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 12: A man and his wife were today apprehended by police at Chak Hasal near Bishnah here along with illicit liquor.
They were identified as Kartar Chand, son of Beli Ram, and his wife Preeto Devi. They belong to Sansi tribe.
Police sources said a police party led by SI Surjeet Kumar, SHO of Bishnah police station, arrested both of them and recovered 2.5 lt illicit liquor.
Over 200 litres of lahan was destroyed on the spot, the sources added.
Police had registered a case against the couple under section 48-A of Excise Act. |
