Sonia's decision to reject Peerzada's resignation termed unfortunate | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12: All J&K Movement for Peace and Justice, a non-government organisation, has termed Sonia Gandhi's decision to reject Peerzada's resignation as most unfortunate. The movement members, in a meeting held here today, also castigated the Congress high command for its alleged non-serious attitude towards its "tained" ministers. "On one side, Rahul Gandhi proudly announces in Uttar Pradesh that his party will not compromise with the corrupt; and on the other, Sonia does not think for a while while rejecting the resignation of Peerzada despite his allegedly established link with a criminal conspiracy in the state," they asserted, saying this was quite surprising. They held the view that insteading of snubbing the "wrongdoers", the Congress was allegedly promoting them. Such a policy of Congress could have serious repercussions in the hitherto militancy-torn J&K, they asserted. They strongly criticised the Congress high command for its weak handling of the issue of its allegedly tainted minister Peerzada. They also assailed the role of PDP, Panthers Party and BJP for maintaining silence over such a sensitive issue. The members were also highly critical of AICC for its alleged non-seriousness in dealing with the allegations against its home minister in the 2G scam, repeated violations of election commission's code in U P and varying statements of its senior leaders on the Batla House encounter just for votes. The meeting was attended by Deep Singh, KK Rao, Gurtaj Singh, Pankaj Sangral, Dr G S Charak, S N Sapru, Om Ral Bhal, R L Raina and Shiv Lal. |
