| Car stolen from Narwal recovered from Batote, two arrested | | | Jammu / July 31: Batote Police recovered a car (Wagon R), which was stolen on Friday from Narwal area. The vehicle has been seized and both the accused were also arrested by the police. Both of them are also believed to have stolen number of other vehicles also. According to reports, Batote police booked specific information about the movement of a stolen car from this area. Police immediately laid the naka and seized the car bearing regn no. JKO2AB-5987. The car was speedily driven away by the accused from the naka but, police chased and managed to apprehend it and arrested both the persons traveling in it. Those arrested have been identified as Wasim Ahmed son of Abdul Sattar of Sopore and Sajjad Ahmed son of Ghulam Rasool of Baramulla. During their interrogation, they confessed to have stolen the car from Narwal area of Jammu on Friday evening. They also confessed that they have stolen many vehicles from Jammu. They disclosed that after lifting the vehicle they used to stay at different parts of Jammu and Udhampur for 2-3 days and after that they sold it in Srinagar. They have also stolen a car from Bathindi area but, failed to shift it to Srinagar, as the car was recovered at Sainik Colony. It is to mention that the seized car was stolen from Narwal on Friday July 28th, when the owner of the car, Joginder Singh son of Mohinder Singh of Channi Rama was buying the vegetables. He lodged the complaint in this regard at Trikuta Nagar police station. Meanwhile, both the accused have been shifted to the Trikuta Nagar for further investigations.
