Sycophants seeking to establish Gandhis' dictatorship
Remote Control"

RUSTAM

JAMMU, Feb 13: The Congress party, which came into being in December 1885 as a result of the British conspiracies hatched at Shimla and London to ensure the defeat of the Indian freedom struggle and further strengthen imperialism to loot and plunder India and drain its invaluable wealth, including gold and raw material, had no respect for democratic values. Believe it or not: it is up to the esteemed readers of EARLY TIMES.
Yes, there were few public-spirited Indians in the Congress party like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, Aurbindo Ghose and Bipin Chandara Pal, all religiously committed to India, Indian culture, Indian civilization, Indian ethos and people's democracy. But they were rendered ineffective by those in the Congress who believed in the British policy of justice. The Congress remained in the hands of those who believed in fake secularism and fake democracy. The genuine students of Indian freedom struggle know it full well; only those who suffer from an extreme sense of inferiority complex hold the other view.
There were also great leaders like Subhas Chandra Bose in the Congress, but they had to quit the party to please Mahatma Gandhi, a staunch supporter of Jawaharlal Nehru, whose judgment on men and matters was very poor and who was more or less dictatorial in his attitude. (Nehru had his own vision of India. In fact, all through his life he tried to discover India and in the process evolved and implemented policies the results of which are before our eyes. The nation is suffering because of his ambiguities in social and political thought. The problem of Jammu and Kashmir was also the fall-out of his muddled thinking and faith in fake secularism and fake democracy.) Bose had won the presidential election for the second time in a row and defeated Gandhi's candidate (Pittabhi Sitaramaya) seeking election to the post of Congress president. Gandhi had then declared that the "defeat of Sitaramaya was his personal defeat", a statement that made Bose leave the Congress and establish Forward Block. The exit of Bose from the Congress helped Gandhi and Nehru do what they wanted to.
It is hardly necessary to reflect on the Nehru's policies and their adverse impact on the Indian polity and society. Everyone is aware of them. However, the only silver-lining during his time was that there were many leaders of mass experience, competent to mobilise public opinion and helping the Congress to capture power again and again and yet again. It is also hardly necessary to comment on the Indira Gandhi's rule. For, everyone knows that she never tolerated any kind of dissent. She was a dictator for all practical purposes. It was also she who started wooing the minorities to restore the ground she had lost to her opponents. Suffice it to say that she murdered democracy by imposing emergency to retain control over the state power. Yes, of course, she, unlike Nehru, also performed some commendable jobs. She would always be remembered for the division of Pakistan and creation of Bangladesh in 1971, notwithstanding her failure at Shimla in 1972 to get the Kashmir resolved for all the times to come and to the satisfaction of the nation. She would also be remembers for restoring peace in the militant-infested Punjab.
As for the rules of Rajiv Gandhi and the present over 7-year-old Congress-led UPA regime, less said the better. The people suffered under Rajiv and they continue to suffer under what is described as "arrogant", "undemocratic", "dictatorial", "most corrupt", "pro-militant and pro-Pakistan", "minority-centric", "anti-poor", "pro-India Inc" and "pro-America" Congress rule of AICC president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the "nominated" Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Entire nation, barring a few vested interests, including the pro-autonomy and anti-Army and anti-Indian laws NC, are happy with the present dispensation.
But the situation is far more grave and dangerous than the people believe. Take, for example, what has happening these days in Uttar Pradesh for days now. Union Ministers Salman Khurshid, Sriprakash Jaiswal and Beni Prasad Verma and AICC general secretaries Rahul Gandhi and Digvijaya Singh, to mention only a few, have been doing all that they could to communalise the ongoing election process, as also by virtually pitting the minority community against the majority community overlooking the constitutional confines and requirements for capturing the state. Jaiswal has been gone to extent of saying that Rahul Gandhi will "remote control a Congress regime in the state, irrespective of who becomes chief minister". What he shamelessly said to media persons in UP the other day only reinforced the notion that the Gandhis are averse to the idea of regional leaders "growing in profile or having autonomy in exercising authority". What he said also vindicated those who believe, and very rightly, that the "party's state leadership must be pliant to an all-powerful high command" (read Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and even Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, her husband Robert Vadra and their two children".
It is the sycophants like Jaiswal, and they are quite numerous, who are working overtime to help the Gandhis establish their dictatorship in the country and further consolidate their stranglehold over the polity. They have undoubtedly crossed the line and undermined the very cardinal principles of democracy, federalism and people's democracy. Such things cannot be and must not be allowed to happen. It is time for the nation and all the non-Congress mainstream formations to come together and defeat the sycophants who appear determined to destroy all the institutions in order to promote the Gandhis and their own selfish interests. It is already too late.
