| Foes turn Friends, Congress unites, Sham spend 3-hours with Tara | | |

Jammu, Feb 13: While most of the National Conference Ministers Monday where out of civil secretariat specially those from Kashmir valley , it took everyone by surprise when all the Congress ministers having hell of difference with one another today spent three hours together in Deputy Chief Ministers office to sort out the internal difference. What was the most surprising, was the Minister for Health and Horticulture Sham Lal Sharma meeting Deputy Chief minister Tara Chand in latter's office with open arms. It merits a mention here that Sham and Tara till other day were never in talking terms. Once Sharma and Tara Chand were best friends but for the past five years ,they have turned bitter political enemies. Tara Chand belongs to Union Health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's group. Sharma is loyal to PCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz. Sham Lal Sharma first met PHE minister Taj Mohiudin and later both the Ministers went to Minister for Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed where Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla was already present and from there all were seen entering the office of Deputy Chief Minister who himself arrived minutes after the ministers entered his office. Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister for Medical Education R S Chib also joined their colleagues later on. It was perhaps for the first time that all the Congress Ministers in NC led coalition government put their heads together to sort out the internal differences which according to Congress sources were eating up the vital of Congress party in the state and National Conference taking full advantage of ripples within the Congress.
However nothing was immediately known as what transpired in the meeting. But sources privy to Congress said that the party high command has directed Ministry for PHE Taj Mohiuddin to act as ambassador to facilitate unity between Congress ministers under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand. Sources said that Congress high command, of late, realized that their coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir ( National Conference) was taking the full advantage of the disintegrate state Congress and targeting Congress ministers one after another was a big game plan. Sources also said that Taj Mohiuddin has been entrusted the job to facilitate working relationship between Congress Ministers and Legislators in the state.
Sources also said that Congress ministers today unanimously resolved to restrain from going public against each other. Sources added that Congress Ministers decided to assert to get back three important portfolios from National Conference including portfolio of Education department taken back from Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed.
While emerging out of the meeting Taj Mohiuddin refused to divulge into the details, however, in an apparent reference to the latest event said that Congress will put a united face under
the chair of Deputy Chief Minister to defeat all the evil designs.
Meanwhile sources said that Congress high command has initiated a secret enquiry in regard to the doubtful credentials of former minister Ab. Gani Vakil before taking any disciplinary action against him for maligning his colleagues in media and public. |
