| JKNPP demands 'renaming Jammu as Jambu' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 13: Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) unit Jammu West organized a public meeting at Palora Jammu under the chiarmanship Mohinder Pal Singh (Pandu) Province Vice -President in which members demanded renaming of Jammu as 'Jambu.' In the meeting a resolution was adopted by more than five hundred people which was passed unanimously by almost all the members who were present on the occasion. In the resolution it was demanded for re-naming Jammu District as 'Jambu.' Balwant Singh Mankotia State President & MLA who also supported the resolution while addressing the gathering and said that it is the need of the hours that Jammu District should be re-name as Jambu and whole Jammu Province be recognized as Jammu. Mankotia further added that coalition allies of the Govt have made commitment during assembly election complain 2008 that if the congress will come in power first of all delimitation commission shall constituted and assembly seats for Jammu province be enhanced as per voter population and area. Mankotia said that in the coming assembly session panthers party will raise the issue of constitution of delimitation commission forcefully. In the meeting hundred of youth from different words of Jammu west joined Jamu Kashmir National Panthers Party. Other who spoke on the occasion Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu, Tara Chand, Satvir Singh, Manga Singh, Lovely Kumar, Sachin and Bunty. |
