J&K has left far behind Bihar in corruption"
2/14/2012 12:43:44 AM
EARLY TIMES report
Jammu, Feb 13:Strongly demanding a district status to Sunderbani, the chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Front, Satish Poonchi had asked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to grant status to the Sunderbani tehsil as it was the one of the largest tehsil in the state and people have to face several problems in the absence of district in the locality.
Addressing a public rally at Sunderbani city, Satish Poonchi pooh-poohed the state government for not containing the corruption on several fronts as the people of the state are at loosing end. Mentioning about the recent incident of exam-gate, he said that Omar has been surrounded by the wrong and corrupt people, If he (Omar) wants to do something right or good but the coterie, which surrounds him would not allow him to do the right things.
He said that corruption has crossed all the limits in the state and the state had left the Bihar and other corrupt state far behind incorruption, which was the matter of serious concern for every one but the sitting government, had not taken the issue seriously. Underlining the need of abrogation of Upper House (council) in the state, he said that it was so ridiculous that the state has no economical resources to pay the wages of the employees but the over burden of council had multiplied the financial crisis in the state, which should be immediately abrogated to get rid off extra burden on the state exchequer.
He said that state like Punjab, which is much economical strong then the J&K had no upper house and the functioning of government is better in Punjab then J&K.
He also stressed the need of creating the separate constituency for the Sunderbani town.Several political workers belonging to Congress, NC and BJP joined the JKPF in the presence of Satish Poonchi and expressed full faith on him and policies of the party.
Inderjeet Khajuria, Rohit Mahajan a youth leader, Naresh Chadha, Anil Kahjuria and others alos spoke on the occasion.
