Kishtwar , Feb 14: Fresh snowfall witnessed on Monday evening disrupts normal life in Kishtwar District, as traffic remains off the roads due to slippery condition.
Kishtwar town and its adjoin area has received nearly 10 inches fresh snowfall which is still continued till the last report came in. As the weather man (Met department) the issued warning regarding fresh snowfall, the local peoples as well as the people living in adjoining areas of the Kishtwar District preferred to remain confined to their homes.Meanwhile officials of the District Administration said that the resources have been put into service to remove the snow from the internal road. Official also mentioned that due to fresh snowfall, things pertaining to any kind of disaster are being monitored closely besides this a 'joint control room' has been set by police and District Administration to keep an eye on each and every development pertains to snow disaster.
Meanwhile Jammu-Kishtwar National Highway remains closed on 3rd consecutive day today at Patnitop, Khilani and Hasti due to which the flow of some essential commodities has been stop.Commanding of GREF Pankaj Baniyal told that the traffic on Batote-Doda road has been resumed while Doda-Kishtwar road will be cleared by the evening.
