JAMMU , Feb 14 : Jammu Youth Forum has urged the Governor to order probe in the substandard construction of buildings in Jammu University over the last three years. JYF president Sandeep Singh Chib while addressing a press conference said, "The Works Department of the University has been turned into a hub of corruption.
The Engineers of the Department are hand in glove with the contractors and been indulging in looting the money of University."

The newly constructed buildings are in shambles. The building of the Centre for Human Genetics proves the sub standard construction work.
Chib said the University Works Department has been made a hub of corruption by the corrupt University administrators.
The sub standard costs University exchequers crores of rupees. But, no one is bothered to check the same. He added that most of the buildings constructed during the last three years show sign of substandard work done. The students and scholars of the University have been highlighting matter before the authorities.
But, the inaction on the part of the JU authorities gives impression that the administration was also in connivance with them. It is due to their unholy nexus that the bills worth crores of rupees in lieu of substandard work had been released in the shortest possible time. |
