Rather eulogises contractor's role in infrastructure dev | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 14 : Highlighting the role of contractor's fraternity in developing State's basic infrastructure, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather today assured that the Government would address their genuine concerns to remove their hardships. Interacting with a group of contractors, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Central Contractor's Coordination Committee, as a part of pre-budget discussions at Civil Secretariat, Jammu this afternoon, Rather said the contribution of contractors in infrastructure development of the State cannot be overlooked adding that every possible measure will be taken to make working condition for them more conducive and congenial. After hearing grievances of the contractor's, Rather directed the officers of Commercial taxes department to take cognizance of the concerns expressed by the contractors so that their hardships are redressed at the earliest. Rather said J&K is perhaps the first State in the country, which has expanded the scope of pre-budget discussions and brought contractor's fraternity also in its ambit just to give them an opportunity to express their grievance adding that their genuine suggestions would be considered favourably in the next year's Budget proposals.The contractors pleaded for further simplifying the procedure for filing tax returns and Tax clearance certificate which they alleged are cumbersome. |
