KATRA , Feb 14 : An year long dream of the members of SMVDU Collegiate Club came to reality on Saturday when the All Terrain Vehicle, designed and fabricated by the team" The MechaniX" , to participate in India famed automobile competition Baja India 2012, was bid off for Indore by Prof. R N K Bamezai, Vice Chancellor and Roop Avtar Kaur, Registrar, SMVDU. 17 student members from the club as a team of "The MechaniX" viz Akhil Mahajan, Sidharth Mahajan, Vivek Sharma, Hitesh Sharma, Varun Sharma, Nipun Sharma, Aditya Badyal, Sushant Sharma, Aditya Kerni, Sanchit Koul, Manik Sharma, Nitin Badyal, Keshav Salgotra, Akshay Bakaya, Aakash Sharma, Ritish Sharma and Dixit Gupta, all third year students from mechanical engineering department of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra along with their faculty advisor Dr Malhotra, left for Indore to participate in BAJA INDIA 2012 ,the national automobile competition organized by Society of Automotive Engineering, India where they will be competing with different teams from across the country in various static and dynamic events going to be held from February 17 to February 20 in Pithampura, Indore. The group was working for over an year on the designing and fabrication of an All-Terrain Vehicle according to set of rules laid by SAE, India. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine board has been the main sponsor and a key role player for the whole thing coming true. Team is now looking forward for the competition at Indore and winning it over with a good margin. |
