2/14/2012 11:03:58 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 14: JKNPP want to tell the visionary population of the State of Jammu and Kashmir and India & draw the attention of State and Union Government towards the miserable condition of the much neglected people of the Gujjar and Pahari communities of Jammu and Kashmir State.
The Gujjar and Pahari communities were in majority in the state before 1947 and the month of October of the year 1947 is considered the black chapter in the history of the subcontinent and particularly of Jammu & Kashmir state.
When some vested interest elements of the state intrigue and invited Pakistan to invade Kashmir under a well hatched criminal conspiracy which not only divided the state into two parts but sowed the irreparable seeds of hatred in the hearts and minds of the lacs of the people in the entire state especially in the hearts of the Gujjar and Pahari communities which can not be repaired till date and it is due to this division that the Gujjar and Pahari communities were raised to minority and are oppressed and suppressed by the ruling elite so much so that their culture, social and historical identity is on the stake.
Where as Gujjar and Pahari community stands like rock on the borders of the state to protect the and save the lives of the people and defeat the nefarious designs of the enemies and contribute in the Armed forces whether it is the Army or Para-Military forces its only due to their valour and bravery that the Indian Forces succeeded in curbing the militancy and breaking the back bone of militants in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
After the criminal conspiracy of 1947 another conspiracy was hatched by the Kashmiri leadership to further void the gap and hatred between Gujjar and Pahari (two brothers) by giving ST status to Gujjar community only.
It was the conspiracy by the cunning Kashmiri leadership and endorsed by the week and opportunist leadership of Gujjar and Pahari which help create enmities and gave birth to war/militancy like situation between the Gujjar and Pahari communities. To defuse this war like situation some intellectuals Gujjar and Pahari youth came forward and launched a Gujjar and Pahari United Front to wedge the gap and finish the hatred between the two communities.
JKNPP and Syed Mohd. Rafiq Shah MLC and State President (Youth) being a legislator from Pahari community welcome the formation of Gujjar and Pahari United Front and extended his congratulation to the visionary youth leader of the Front for the information of the Front and fight for the noble cause. JKNPP endorsed the demand of the Front for re-opening for all the old routes connecting both parts of the state (POK and J&K ) for which Panthers Party had already succeeded in organizing Intra J&K Heart to Heart Talks between the leadership of both parts of the state at Jammu and Delhi and JKNPP is working for the people to people conferences of both part of the state.
Recognizing the identity of the Front JKNPP urged upon the state and Union Government to accept the just demands of the Gujjar and Pahari community by granting ST status to Pahari and reserve some seats in state Legislature for Gujjar community by providing them political reservation.
Recommendation to this effect was made to the government of India by the JKNPP through its Delhi Declaration resolution during the year 2009.
JKNPP extended its support to all the just cause of the Gujjar and Pahari United Front as all their problem are included in the manifesto of JKNPP.
