Union Railway Budget:CCI submits memorandum to Trivedi | | | EARLY TIMES report Jammu, Feb 14: In a memorandum submitted to Dinesh Trivedi Union Railway Minister by Y.V. Sharma , President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu, some demands were highlighted for taking into a consideration during the presentation of Railway Budget 2012-2013. The demands included Railway Coach Factory to give Philip to the pace of industrialization. Setting up of a Rail Coach Factory will go along way in fulfilling the long awaited dream of the people of this region. This will also generate lot of employment opportunities. It will also give boost to the process of ancillarization of the industrial units. It said that the double laning of Railway Track from Jammu to Jallundhar which is already in progress, though a bit slow has to ensure that Jammu Station is connected immediately. One Shatabadi Train from Jammu to Delhi and back is of utmost importance which will benefit both tourists and business community. Though an experiment was made in the years gone by but which could not be successful due to various stops on various stations which were not exactly suiting the people travelling from Jammu to Delhi and back in this train. This Shatabadi train has to be precisely from Jammu to Delhi and back. Sharma requested to start a direct train from Jammu to Bangalore. It is very old demand of the people of J&K State. We would like to make it clear that thousands of students from our state are studying in various colleges in Bangalore Even this particular train will facilitate defense forces also. So we request that this train may kindly be sanctioned in this budget, he said. It further included that remodeling of yards and extension of two platforms at Jammu Railway Station are very essential. The memorandum also included that Jammu Railway Station should be developed as a world class station as state is receiving tourists and religious pilgrims from all over the country especially the pilgrims going to Mata Vaishno Devi. An extra Foot over Bridge (FOB) from Plate form No.3 to the circulation area is required to decongest the main platform. |
