Government sacks 13 officers/officials

JAMMU, Feb 14: Government has issued orders for prematurely retiring thirteen Government employees from Service on the basis of the recommendations given by the high level committee chaired by the Chief Secretary. The meeting decided to sack 13 middle and low rung officials on charges of corruption.
The government took the decision on the basis of recommendations of a panel which probed charges of corruption against the officials following complaints against them. The committee has been set up to review the cases of corrupt and inefficient officials at their own level and also to speed up the departmental inquiries.
An official spokesman has informed that the standing committee under the Chief Secretary is reviewing more cases for premature retirement, the list of such officers may also include some senior officers of the Government.
It is understood that the said committee has, in the first instance, recommended those officers/officials against whom there are concrete cases of accepting bribes. These officials belong to PHE, PWD, Education, Finance, Power Development, Forest and Rural Development Departments. The names of such officers/officials prematurely retired included Surinder Singh S/O Sanmukh Singh, I/C Executive Engineer, ERA, J&K (PHE Department); Farooq Ahmad Khoru S/O Ghulam Ahmed Khoru, I/C Executive Engineer, Irrigation Division Sumbal (PHE Department); Noor Mohammad Bhat S/O Wali Mohammad Bhat, I/C DFO, Planning & Publicity division Srinagar (Forest Department); Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, I/C AEE, Phalgam Development Authority, Phalgam, PWD(R&B); Khursheed Anwar Shah S/O Kh. Habibullah Shah, AEE PMGSY, Ganderbal PWD(R&B); Aijaz Ahmad Kirmani S/O Ghulam Nabi Kirmani, I/C AEE, J&K Police Housing Corporation Srinagar PWD(R&B); Shaheen Akhter W/O Abdul Rauf Gujjar, Head Master, High School, Kallar, Rajouri (Education Department); Madan Lal S/O Mangal Dass, Head Draftsman, PWD(R&B) Electric Division Jammu; Parshotam Lal S/O Gian Chand, JE, attached with Director, Rural Development, Jammu (Rural Development Department); Vachitter Singh S/O Gajay Singh, Lineman posted at EM&RE Division-I Parade Jammu (Power Development Department); Gulzari Lal, Technician-III, EM&RE Division-III, Jammu (Power Development Department); Smt Shama Bakshi W/O Pawan Kumar, the then Assistant Compiler, GP Fund Office, Gangyal, presently attached in the office of Joint Director Funds, Jammu (Finance Department) and Subash Chander Raina S/O Moti Lal Raina, Accounts Assistant, Joint Director, Accounts &Treasuries, Jammu (Finance Department).
Official spokesman further informed that on the overall directions of the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary has also directed all Administrative Secretaries to review the cases of corrupt and inefficient officials at their own level and also to speed up the departmental inquiries.
