JAMMU, Feb 15: Government MAM College in men section and the combined team of Post Graduate (PG) Departments dominated the inaugural day of the 39th Annual Inter-college Athletics Meet of University of Jammu which started today on the campus, here.
Out of the six gold medals decided today, MAM College and PG women shared two each to make a positive beginning.
Earlier, the three-day athletics meet was declared open by Vice-Chancellor, Prof MPS Ishar in a colourful function organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education at sports stadium.
Before the Vice Chancellor declared open the meet, the participating contingents take part in march past and oath taking ceremony.
In his welcome address, Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau presented detailed note of the activities of the department.
