| Tawi Trekkers honour mountaineer Ladol | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 15: In a simple but impressive function Tawi Trekkers J&K, the premier adventure sports organization of J&K, today honoured Miss Tsering Ladol, the only female mountaineer of J&K who has scaled the Everest, the highest peak on the earth.
She was presented a shawl and Rs.5000/-by the President of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Sumant Singh Jamwal in the presence of other club members. O P Karnani, Factory manager Insecticides (India) Limited who was present on the occasion also presented an amount of Rs.1100/- to the distinguished mountaineer.
In his welcome address, Ram Khajuria, General Secretary of the club highlighted the achievements of Miss Tsering Ladol. He apprised the distinguished gathering that Ladol was just 18 years of age when she climbed the Everest from the difficult Tibet side, in 2005. She has also climbed Kamet peak, situated at a height of 25447ft, he added. |
