| SRTC VRS employees protest | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Feb 15: State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) VRS employees staged a demonstration in front of Press club here today in support of their demands.
The demonstration was led by Dev Raj Bali and S Surinder Singh, president and general secretary of SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association respectively.
The protestors were demanding immediate payment of their remaining dues. They criticized the State Government as well as the SRTC Management for not releasing their dues including leave salary, gratuity, ex -gratia grant and 126 slabs of COLA to them. They alleged that the bills for the same were prepared in January 1, 2006 and sent to the Secretariat but due to the wrong presentation of case by the SRTC management, the payment stands delayed.
Addressing the demonstrators Mr Bali said that the VRS employees are suffering due to wrong policies of the SRTC management. He alleged that the VRS employees stand cheated by the Government and SRTC management by not releasing their dues for the last two years.
He demanded that all pending cases be settled and the promises made with the VRS employees be fulfilled without any further delay.
He warned that if the problems were not settled within one week, the Association will be forced to intensify the movement. He demanded immediate implementation of Government order No 237-F of 2010-dated August 30, 2010.
Others who addressed the demonstration included Balwinder Singh, Neelam Kumari, D N Sharma, B V Sharma, Asan Elahi, Surjit Singh, Javed Iqbal and Gulshan Singh. |
