Govt releases Rs. 5.5 cr for medicare, auditorium & old age home at Jagti: Bhalla

JAMMU, Feb15: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla on Wednesday said that Government is making all out efforts to provide all infrastructural facilities like road connectivity, education, healthcare, drinking water, recreational park, playfield besides better accommodation to Kashmiri Migrants (KMs) in Jagti township.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a meeting of officers at Civil Secretariat here.
Minister of State for Revenue, Home, PHE and Tourism Nasir Aslam Wani, Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Naseema Lanker, Commissioner/Secretary, Revenue, B A Runyal, Commissioner/Secretary PHE, I&FC B D Sharma, Relief Commissioner (M) Vinod Koul, Director School Education Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi, Superintending Engineer R&B P L Bhushan besides other senior officers of PHE, Health, School Education were present in the meeting.
Expressing concern over the plight of Kashmiri migrants (KMs) at Jagti township, Bhalla asked the School Education authorities to provide Library and Laboratory facilities to the students of the community at Government Middle,Higher Secondary Schools at Jagti. Regarding posting of teaching and non-teaching staff members, he asked to post the staff from recently closed Mishriwala migrant school to those schools where staff is less. He said there is no constraint of funds in providing computer education, free books besides other facilities to the students in the schools.
For providing doorstep healthcare facilities to ailing persons in the township, the Minister said Government has approved Rs. 3 crore for purchase for medical equipments and drugs etc.
He asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing construction works of the hospital well before stipulated time frame so that the hospital would be made functional.
Bhalla asked the health authorities to provide all medicare facilities to the inhabitants round the clock at already opened medical centres till the hospital is completed in the township.
Regarding construction of Nagrota-Jagti township link road, the Minister asked the R&B department to immediately start the WBM works of the road and complete the project well before the start of mecademisation season.
For facilitating the sports lovers, he said Government has earmarked Rs. 50 lakh for construction of stadium in the township adding that the project is under progress and would be completed by May this year.
He said Government has earmarked Rs. 1 crore for construction of auditorium in the colony besides Rs. 1.5 crore for establishment of old age home with capacity of 50 persons.
