E-Tendering for major deptt's shall be mandatory and not optional: Omar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb15: "E-Tendering by the Government departments is required to be made mandatory to ensure transparency in the system and utilization of this effective and high tech transparent system of present era, shall not be left to the discretion and option of the concerned departments" said the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while launching E-Tendering procedure of Housing department, PDC and Police department. The Chief Minister put number of these three tenders of departments on Net through various respective web sites, for execution. The Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand who is holding the portfolio of Housing and Urban development, Minister of State for Home, Housing and PHE, Nasir Aslam Wani, Principal Secretary Home, B. R. Sharma, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister V. V. Vyas, Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, Principal Secretary Power Sudanshu Pandey and ADG, K. Rajindra were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister while appreciating the necessity of E-Tendering through wider network and website systems, said that in present high-tech world this is most transparent and fair toll in making all tenders public so that not only bidders watch these tenders but the General public are also able to access them and be aware about all procedures adopted for the same. The Chief Minister was informed in the meeting that in housing department the tenders of SMC, GMC, SDA, JDA-UEED LAWADA, Housing Corporation, Local Bodies shall be put on the net for E-Tendering. Similarly, in Police department the tenders for procurement of various equipment and execution of various works shall also be tendered through the electronic network, Power Development Corporation shall be making hub in the offices of each Chief Engineer for collection of such tenders which will be put for E-Tendering in the most transparent and effective manner. Through this system the bids will also be taken through the net and awards for execution of work shall also be made through the net. All necessary steps have been taken by Information Technology Department to ensure the security of E-Tendering. |
