Full court reference to mourn demise of adv Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15: The J&K high court today mourned the demise of advocate Dwarka Nath Gupta who passed away Monday last. A Full Court Reference was held in the high court to pay tribute to the departed lawyer. It was presided over by chief justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla. Other judges present on the occasion included Justice Virender Singh, Justice Mansoor Ahmed and Justice J P Singh. The chief justice said that his death was sure to cause an aching void in the hearts of the members of his family. "His loss is irreparable for the legal fraternity and his memories will linger on in our minds," he added. The chief justice, on behalf of other judges, expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved members of his family and observed silence in the honour of the departed soul. On this occasion, bar association president B S Salathia paid rich tributes to the departed soul on behalf of the bar association. On behalf of the state government, M I Qadiri paid rich tributes. The members of high court registry, subordinate courts and members of the bar association also attended the full court reference. After the full court reference, the court work remained suspended for the rest of day. Advocate Gupta completed his LLB from Punjab University in 1943 and was enrolled as pleader by the high court in December 1943. He was enrolled as vakil in April 1950 and as advocate in June 1953. |
