| NSUI Chenab region demands for better medicare facilities | | | Kishtwar, Feb 15: In a press statement issued by NSUI, Chenab Valley has demanded for better medicare facilities in rural areas of Chenab region viz Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban District.
All the representatives of the NSUI his concern over the deplorable health services in the area and urged upon the government to fill all the vacant posts including the posts of assistant surgeon and paramedical staff lying vacant since last more than 4 years. They demanded for enhancement of quota of medicines as a special case and demanded for modification of norms set by National Committee so that the rural areas like erstwhile district Doda could be benefited.
They said that even the state Financial Commission in his report has categorized Chenab region as most backward area in terms of availability of health facilities. They said that they had also made a fervent appeal to Union Health Minister to intervene personally in the matter so that by giving better medicare in the area, the precious lives of the people could be saved. They said that the poor masses of Chenab region cannot afford the medical care facilities at Jammu or Srinagar cities.
They said that the Govt. should make alternative arrangements if the present set up is not working effectively such as provision of mobile health care vans & air dropping the life saving drugs in snow bound areas. |
