| PHE Gravity Water Tank Rajouri non-functional since last 10 years | | | Rajouri, Feb 15: In a major lapse of govt funds and mockery with people of Rajouri city, a water tank constructed as a part of Gravity Water Scheme of Rajouri city remained non-functional right from first day of its construction. According to officials who preferred anonymity said after a detailed overlook of water supply in city, concerned authorities decided to formulate up a gravity water supply scheme in the city after which govt also approved the project. "This water gravity tank is having a capacity of 1000 gallans and can prove potential and its significant in augmentation of water supply in the city, sources added. "Soon after the approval, the construction work of a water tank was started in ward no: 9 of city and after spending rupees worth lakhs was constructed, they said further regretting, "ten years have passed but due to non-serious approach of concerned authorities this water tank has failed to serve its purpose.
Showing their resentment over this, locals of this area have accused PHE authorities who according to them have failed to take initiative to give this water tank a life and quench the thirst of the people of Rajouri.
When contacted Assistant Executive Engg (AEE) Rajouri PHE Hqrs said that steps will be taken make the gravity water tank of the city functional. |
