| 'Adamant Principal DIET' disappoints aspiring students | | 8th Class Exam Center shifted far away in Miran Sahib in violation of norms | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Miran Sahib, Feb 15: Surpassing rules of adjusting the examination centers nearest of the schools of the students, the Principal DI-ET, allegedly, put the students to problems by constituting centers miles away from schools, ignoring the recommendations of CEO and other concerned authorities.
Complaints have been pouring in students against shifting of their examination centers far away from their schools despite a spacious accommodation is available in nearest areas of the schools.
Aggrieved students as well as management of a particular school approa-ched to the Incharge Princ-ipal DIET who refused to accept their appeals and also ignored the recommendations of CEO Jammu and Principal of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Miran Sahib.
The aggrieved students and their parents also appealed the Commissioner Secretary Education and Director School Education to shift the examination centers of 8th class to nearest locality of the school for the convenience of the examinees.
One of such complaints were lodged to this newspaper from parents and students of New Gandhi Memorial Higher Secon-dary School (NGMHSS) that their center have been constituted at Pragmatic Institute of Education, Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib which is about 3 (three) miles away from the said school whereas there are two schools Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Miran Sahib and Govt Boys High School (Ban Sultan) Miran Sahib are in the nearest vicinity of the NGMHSS and either of two schools is quite feasible for the students to reach in time to the examination center.
When the aggrieved parents on 13th of this month approached the Incharge Principal DIET, Kulbir Singh with an appeal to shift the center to either of the two mentioned schools, he simply said, "I don't know CEO Jammu or Principal GGHSS Miran Sahib and will not consider their recommendations of shifting the examination center and now it can not be changed".
When contacted the management of the NGMHSS, Miran Sahib, it said that on 11th of this month a petition was submitted to the Incharge Principal DIET, Kulbir Singh which was also recommended by the Principal GGHSS Miran Sahib and CEO Jammu (their recommendations are pasted in the newspaper for ready references) for the shifting of the center as per the last year's record.
Principal GGHSS recommended as, "Copy of the application is submitted to Principal DIET Jammu with the remarks that the students of NGMHSS M.Sahib of class 8th T2 exam 2010-11 has appeared in the exam C-N0: 199-B constituted in our school as per directions of Chief Education Officer Jammu which was previously constituted in Pragm-atic Instt of Edu, M Sahib".
CEO Jammu recommended as, "Submitted in-original to the Pr DIET Jammu with the remarks that the request of Mgt as per last year and previous years may be considered as per center notice issued earlier last year and the order copy".
However going through the said recommendations of the said Principal and CEO, Kulbir Singh asked the management of NGMHSS that to get the copy of CEO order that the center for the said school was constituted at GGHSS, Miran Sahib just to avoid to accommodate these recommendations, when in fact the records are lying in his office and the concerned department besides, the recommendations also clearly points out that, management said adding, that these are the excuses to create problems to the students and the school.
Meanwhile Management, NGMHSS said that it also approached to State Institute of Education (SIE) which is the main authority to conduct the 8th class examination.
Its Principal A C Aima gave patient hearing and directed Kulbir Singh to change the center for the sake of students.
ZEO, Miran Sahib was also approached to get the copy of last year's shifting order of center to GGHHS Miran Sahib by CEO Jammu, but he has refused to give the copy on one or the other pretext, management NGMHSS lamented.
It is relevant to mention here that the center was constituted at NGMHSS upto 2008, in 2008-09 and 2009-10 and later was shifted to Govt Boys High School (Ban Sultan) Miran Sahib while last year 2010-11 the center was allotted deliberately to Pragmatic Institute of Education, Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib. |
