| No confidence motion against DGPC’s Jammu President | | Charged for misappropriation of Gurudwara funds | | Jammu | Jan 18 An emergent meeting of members of District Gurudwara Parkanthak Committee (DGPC) was held under the chairmanship of S. Amrike Singh today. The meeting adopted an unanimous ‘no confidence motion’ against their president, Jagjeet Singh, forthwith as per the provision of section 57-A (1) of Sikh Gurdwara and Religious Endowment Rules 1975 as he has lost the majority support in the 11 member DGPC. Besides, the allegations of large scale bungling in Gurdwaras’ funds and their misappropriation has been reported against the said president. The meeting has also proposed for election of a new DGPC President who could be assigned the responsibility head the DGPC and seen the religious affairs in accordance with Gurudwara all. The meeting was addressed S. Kehar Singh and S. Hazara Singh meanwhile, S. Jagjeet Singh president DGPC has refuted the charges leveled against DGPC being baseless. On the other hand, as per a press release of Jammu & Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board as dissolved the District Parbandhak Committee Jammu on 16th Jan 2007 while has been replaced by an adhoc committee in compliance with the Gurdwara Religious and Endowment Act 1973. The newly constituted committee is as under. S. Sukhdev Singh, Administrator, S. Gurdev Singh, Secretary, S. Shamsher Singh, Cashier, S. Avtar Singh Khalsa and Jaspal Singh Manager, members.
