CBI court sentences Bank manager 2-yrs imprisonment | | | Srinagar, Feb 15 : The Special Judge CBI Court, B L Bhat, Wednesday sentenced a senior manager of Grameen Bank with two years of imprisonment and fine of Rs 20000 after he was convicted in a bribery case of 2005. Gar Chand, senior manager Jammu Rural Bank (Grameen Bank) Bishnah had demanded Rs 20000 from one Teja Ram in 2005 for sanctioning of a loan case. Teja Ram had filed a complaint with the CBI who had laid a trap and arrested Chand red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 as first installment. The CBI Inspector, Rafiq Ahmad Kaloo after investigations had challaned the case to the court. After hearing the arguments from both the sides, the judge slapped the accused with two years rigrous imprisonment and fine of Rs 20000. SK Bhat appeared on behalf of the CBI while Mr Charak appeared on behalf of the accused. |
