Khoda, Bhan rivals for CVC post | Mehbooba's 'vote' would matter in meeting | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15: Director general of police Kuldeep Khoda and former vigilance commissioner AK Bhan are rivals for the post of chief vigilance commissioner. While Khoda, who is to attain age of superannuation in May, 2012 is supported by the ruling national conference and AK Bhan's name is being proposed by the alliance partner congress. Dr Bhan, apart from honest, sincere and dedicated IPS officer throughout his career, has remained non-controversial police officer. The opposition leader Mehbooba Mufti, who is part of the selection committee for the post of chief vigilance commission, is to be seen as to whom she supports in the meeting to be attended by deputy chief minister Tara Chand , law minister A M sagar and PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti incoming days. Interestingly, twenty more civil and police officers have applied for the post. Khoda's name, it is learnt has been cleared by the chief minister's secretariat despite fake encounter case of early 1990s is pending against him in jammu and Kashmir high court. DG Khoda has been blamed for helping and facilitating one surrendered militant is carrying out murder of the innocent civilian a fake encounter in Doda district of jammu by one NGO .
