Bhalla launches Rs. 14 lakh development works

JAMMU, Feb 16 : Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said that focused attention is being paid by the Government to improve living standard of the inhabitants of city peripheries by providing all basic amenities adding that in this regard several bold and exemplary initiatives have been taken.
Minister was interacting with the locals during his tour to Sector-7 in Nanak Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar after launching Rs. 14 lakh development works, here today.
Bhalla said 'It is the duty of the Government to fulfill the aspirations of the people across the State adding that there is no constraint of funds in developing every corner of the State on modern lines.
Responding to the local demand, the Minister asked the PHE department to replace worn out pipes so that safe and regular water supply could be providing to the Nanak Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar residents.
He said drinking water is being wasted due to leakages, which need to be plugged. Regarding matador service to the areas, he asked the accompanying District Development Commissioner Sanjeev Verma Janmu to personally look into the genuine problem and make provision for to and fro transport services to the localities.
Bhalla asked the R&B department to prepare estimates for modernization of internal lanes and drains at W. No. 52 in Ambedkar Nagar and submit the same for funding so that the construction works could be started.
The Minister also visited Basant Vihar locality and took stock of people's developmental needs and their problems. He issued on-the-spot instructions to concerned for taking appropriate steps in this regard.
He said that Rs. 6.33 lakh has been already approved for widening of lane by fixing iron grating over drain in the locality. He assured the inhabitants that other genuine developmental demands would also be fulfilled on priority.
He directed concerned officers and engineers to formulate plans under different sectors to improve basic facilities in the area.
He called upon the people to remain united to defeat the nefarious designs of those who want to divide people for their personal interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State. He asked them to extend their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and prosperity in the State.
