| Man arrested for impersonating cop | | | early times report
Jammu, Feb 16: A man looting people by impersonating as policeman was arrested at Jammu Tawi Railway Station here, police sources said. ''A man identified as Devinder Kumar, resident of villager Saliarh, Arnia was arrested this afternoon for allegedly imposing himself as a policeman and minting money from the locals,'' a police official here said.
He said that the impersonator was active in Railway Station area and on seeing the visitors and locals he used to threaten them and demand money. ''Acting on complaints lodged at Bahu Fort and Railway Station Police Stations, trap was laid and the accused was arrested today,'' police official added. ''He had robbed off Rs 1,000 and a mobile from one of the complainant yesterday but we have recovered Rs 400 and the mobile set from his possession,'' he added. A case has been registered and investigations are in progress. |
