Dismissed BJP MLAs to join JKDF | | | EARLY TIMS REPORT JAMMU, Feb 16: After the seven BJP MLAs were dismissed by the party for indulging in cross voting during the elections for the MLC, the six have reportedly have decided to formally support Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF), formed by son of former MLA, Chaman Lal Gupta who also is facing the expulsion. According to sources MLAs which were disqualified include Bharat Bhushan, Gharu Ram Bhagat, Durga Dass, Baldev Raj Sharma, Jagdish Sapolia , Lal Chand and Chaman Lal Gupta will come on single platform to throw a challenge to the BJP in the state on February 19. Sources said that they are also likely to field their candidates against the BJP in the elections for Municip-alities excepted to be held in April this year. Anu Gupta, who is convener of the front said, "We have extended our invitation to these MLAs and they have accepted it. They will take part in the function on February 19 when the party will be formally launched", Gupta said. All the MLAs were disqualifies by the BJP in October 18 last year, after allegation that they have voted for the candidates of NC and Congress. Recently Speaker Legislative Assembly Muh-ammad Akbar Lone is reported to have asked Jugal Kishore Sharma, the leader of four MLAs of the BJP, to explain the circumstances under which seven MLAs were identified for cross-voting and a petition was filed for their disqualification from the Legislative Assembly. |
