NC Worker's Custodial Death: JKNPP Seeks CBI Probe | | | early times report JAMMU, Feb16: Terming the Omar Abdulah-led coalition government in the state as "tainted, corrupt and non-functional", the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today demanded its immediate dismissal and sought a CBI probe into last year's custodial death of National Conference worker Haji Yusuf. "The Panthers Party seeks immediate dismissal of the tainted, corrupt and non-functional coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir", JKNPP Chairman Prof Bhim Singh told reporters here. The State government's image is dented after scams and levels of political and bureaucratic corruption increasing day in and day out, he said. To press for the dismissal of the NC-led government in J-K for corruption and failure on all fronts, JKNPP has unanimously decided to hold a strong protest in front of the State Assembly on February 23 when the Budget Assembly Session shall start, Singh said. "We demand a CBI probe into the murder of Yusuf haji, NC worker who died under mysterious circumstances after being found involved in political corruption", he said. Yusuf, was summoned to the residence of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a cash for post case and died after he was taken away by the Crime Branch sleuths last year. The Panthers Party appealed to all units of the Panthers Party including Trade Union, Young Panthers, NPSU, Kissan committee, Ex-servicemen to participate in the protest. The Party protest shall seek immediate dismissal of the tainted, corrupt and non-functional coalition government, JKNPP Chief said. |
