N.S.M. educational society celebrates Annual Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU,, Feb 16: Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik today asked teacher fraternity to imbibe sense of discipline, obedience and above all moral values among younger generation so that they prove to be real assets for the society and backbone of the nation. The Minister was speaking at a function organized by N.S.M. Educational Society and S. M. Shishu Niketan Anand Nagar to mark Annual Day celebration. The Minister said that the students of present age have been blessed by Nature with intellect and sharp IQ but there is a need to channelize their talent and potentialities into proper direction. Malik appreciated the society for presenting a scintillating cultural show on the occasion which enthralled the audience with spectacular performances related to religious beliefs, traditional dresses, patriotism, latest trends in fun, dance and music especially the physical activity like Karate and other health assuring programmes. Special applause was given by the Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion to an item "Khawaja Meray Khawaja" presented by tender children. In order to bring uniformity among students and also popularizing local dresses, the Minister asserted to fix one day in a year for visiting the educational institution in traditional dresses to showcase rich cultural ethos hidden in the local attires and languages of people living in different parts of the state and country. Earlier, Chairman of NSM Educational Society T.R. Mahajan, while welcoming the Minister and other dignitaries said that the event organized by the society is aimed at propagating education and increasing rate of literacy. He said that the society has geared to meet all the challenges being faced by the student community in view of growing demands of modernization of education world over. Principal of the NSM College of Education, Suman Thusso presented Annual Report of the college and said that the college imparts valuable training to its students to make them efficient teachers. Chairman J&K State Board of School Education, Jammu Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Administrative Officer, I.D. Gandotra, and Principal S.M.Shishu Niketan Sunita Koul also attended the function. Later the Minister presented trophies to the students for their academic excellence. |
