PSA-GBSWA stage protest in JU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 16: Progr-essive Students Association (PSA) and Gujjar Bakarwal Students' Welfare Associ-ation (GBSWA) protested in Jammu University in favor of the nation wide protest against the six education bills to be introduced by UPA in the Budget session of parliament. The six bills which are going to be introduced in the budget session of parliament are foreign educational institutions (entry and regulation) bill; educational Tribunal Bill; abolition of unfair practices Bill; bill to setup an accreditation authority; University for innovation bill; Bill to legislate regulation for PPP(public private partnersnhip). Addressing the protestors PSA leader Rohit Bharti said, "These bill are in a tune to promote the corporatization in the education, and will drastically change the scenario of education in our country which led to deteriorate the socio-economic condition of country." Others Speakers maintained that these bills are against the student community and furthers the implementation of Global agenda of privatization of education in India. "If passed these bills not only give the control of our mind in the foreign hands but also degrade the autonomy of the existing autonomous bodies like UGC, AICTE, DEC, MCI etc," they apprehended. |
