Missing links to JK: JKNPP jumping for lime light but negating Jammu's voice | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 16: The 'holier-than-thou' offer of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman Prof Bhim Singh to plead Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani's case before Supreme Court of Pakistan is a classic example of showing concern for aliens while turning a deaf ear to the woes and plights of own. Prof Bhim Singh never misses an opportunity to boast of championing the cause of Jammu region and its people but his actions hardly match with his deeds. He wants to plead Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani's case before Supreme Court of Pakistan to be in media lime light but has no time to take up the case of the poor and hapless person of Domana whose son was killed a few years ago. The poor father burdened by the ill fate (as they say to perform last rites of son is heaviest burden in this world) is fighting a legal battle to get justice which still is a distant dream, but Prof Singh who claimed to be an acclaimed barrister and noted human right activist who had fought battle at Apex Court for Pak detainees yet has failed to spare time for the poor man. There are numerous issues pertaining to Jammuites particularly the issue of discrimination with Jammu youth in government jobs viz a viz development matters. Why Bhim Singh never made the similar offer to Jammu youth who time and again faced discrimination at the hands of the authorities in the job selection process where the Kashmiris always get a preferential treatment. The latest example of gross discrimination and injustice meted out to the Jammuites is the recently declared selection list of Assistant Information Officers wherein again the Kashmiri candidates dominate their Jammu counterparts. Why Singh failed to utter a word of solace and support to the candidates belonging to Jammu region whose names are missing from the final select list of Assistant Information Officers' list. Why he did not offer to lend legal aid to the job aspirants who had no clue where and whom to approach to get justice not only for themselves but for the Jammu region as a whole. The utter failure of Prof Singh to object to the bias with Jammu could be gauged from the fact that he did not confront Congress-led UPA Government when it launched Rs 1000-crore training-cum-placement package exclusively for the Kashmiri youth last year thereby again leaving lakhs of unemployed Jammu youth in the lurch Providing legal assistance to Kashmiri militant Bitta Karate and offering the same to the head of a nation which is known for its anti-India stance is nothing but the signs of political debauchery of Prof Singh. Prof Singh who is so keen to provide free legal assistance to the Pakistani Prime Minister, however, why the senior JKNPP leader and Supreme Court lawyer never made such offer to those who really deserve it. Is Singh's volunteerism to provide legal assistance free of cost is reserved only for the Pak Premier or he is also ready give legal aid to those who can not afford to fight long legal battles for want of money? By any means anyone can understand that Gilani can easily take legal advice by having the services of battery of eminent lawyers within his own country or from outside and he is not dependent on Prof Singh to bail him out. It is worthwhile to mention here that Prof Bhim Singh has offered to plead Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani's case before Supreme Court of Pakistan. In a letter to Pakistan's Prime Minister, Singh who is a Supreme Court lawyer, offered his free legal assistance in connection with contempt proceedings against Gilani in the Apex Court. |
