Jammu, Feb 16: On the one hand State Government is forcibly retiring the corrupt officers and officials and recently 13 officers and officials have been shown the door and on the other hand the Power Development Corporation (PDC) is giving extension to some blue eyed boys by ignoring the standing rules.
According to sources the authorities in PDC has for last two years given extension to several of its officials and officers by ignoring the government policy altogether. Thereby it has jeopardized the career of many of its employees in race for promotion to higher posts, sources added.

Moreover a major section of the employees in the Corporation is also of the view that such a step is also an impediment in the way of eradicating the unemployment in the state.
Sources said the PDC management while throwing all the rules to winds have on its own granted extension to several officers and this process is on. Giving example of such extensions sources reveal that recently an Headclerk in Civil investigation of PDC who was retiring last month on attaining his age of superannuation was given extension by two years by the management of Corporation while last year a senior clerk of CID Division PDC Sopore in Kashmir Valley last year, sources added.

Sources said in addition to it large number of staff including engineers and ministerial staff is working in the Corporation on deputation from Works Department for last 20 years but the authorities till date have failed to repatriate them to their parent departments.
Source said that these officers and engineers are so influential that they manage to get their transfers cancelled. This way they mar the chances of [promotion of the staff borne on the establishment of the corporation, sources added.
Sources said one engineer who is also working on deputation for last over a decade is holding two posts while the employees within Corporation are denied the promotion.
