| Hurriyat to build consensus among Pak politicians, militants | | | New Delhi| Jan 18 A Hurriyat Conference team led by chairman Mirwaiz Umer
Farooq today left for Islamabad to evolve consensus among separatist and militant
leaders across the border on its "self-rule" formula. The three-member delegation will also hold consultations with political leaders on
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's proposals to resolve the Kashmir issue. "We will try and evolve consensus with everyone. Everyone includes those who speak
with their tongue or roar with guns," senior Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Bhat, part of
the team, said ahead of its departure to the neighbouring country. The team's visit to Pakistan comes admit repeated clashes between workers of the
moderate and hardline factions of Hurriyat in Kashmir after an unsuccessful grenade
attack on the Mirwaiz's residence in Srinagar last week. Asked about the agenda of the team's meetings across the border, Bhat said the
delegation will hold consultations on the Musharraf's four-point proposal to find a
solution to the Kashmir issue. Musharraf recently proposed the de-militarisation of Kashmir, autonomy or
self-governance with a joint supervision mechanism and making borders and the LoC
irrelevant for resolving the dispute.
