JAMMU, Feb 17: The professional side of Jammu and Kashmir Bank today blanked J&K Police-B to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing 3rd Sher-e-Kashmir Gold Cup Football Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here. All the three goals were scored by the Bank in first half of the play. Bilal Wani opened the account for J&K Bank by striking in the very seventh minute of the match. Sheikh Rizwan came with second goal for the team netting the ball in 15th minute. The junior side of J&K Police could not do well in rest of the first half play and conceded yet another goal in the 23rd minute. Entering into the second half of the game with confidence, J&K Bank could not improve the score on board and the game ended 3-0. Earlier, the match started past four against the given time of 3 pm because the J&K Bank management had some reservations about the penal of officials for today's crucial game. The Bank officials insisted on conduct of the game through already mentioned 10-member penal of officials. But due to some preoccupations, none of the empanelled individuals were available. However, the timely intervention by organizing secretary of the tournament, Surinder Singh Bunty, who happens to be resident secretary of the J&K Football Association Jammu wing, J&K Bank agreed for given penal of officials. Today's quarterfinal was officiated by Sonu Kumar (centre), Anil Kumar and Kamal Kumar.
