| Mosque beautification ! | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Feb 17: In the name of preserving heritage, the Archeological Department has made life of Makhdoom KLocha difficult. The locality has the historic Pather Masjid in its vicinity. Also known as Shahi Masjid, the mosque was built by Mughal empress, Noor Jehan. Three years ago, the Archeological Department dug a drain to beautify the historic mosque. The Engineer incharge has constructed the lane in such a way that it has become a pond. The foul smell emanating from the drain gives tough times to the residents. In rainy days, crossing the drain taxes their nerves. The drain has caused several accidents in the area, the locals said. The residents have sought appropriate measures. |
