Landslides threat: Eight families shifted to safer places | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar, Feb 17: Miseries due to bad weather continues in Kishtwar for the people of which at least eight families of Panie Nallah in Drabshala area of the District to nearby Government High School building Drabshala. Reports however said that 41 families face threat of land sinking. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik said that after accessing the situation at ground, eight families have been shifted to High School Drabshala building on temporary basis. He further added in case of any emergency the administration will also shift rest families in the village to safer places. He informed that administration provided 2 Qtl of rice to the affected families. Deputy Commissioner said also mentioned that land identified by the MLA Inderwal is a forest land and accordingly the file has been sent to government for final approval. Meanwhile in a landslide incident at village Tanta in Gandoh village of Doda District four people got injured, one of them seriously injured. Troops of 26 RR, Police and cuvil authorities rush to the spot and started evacuated the injured persons to nearby hospital from where one Anaytullah Hussain (25 yrs) son of Abdul Latief Magrey was airlifted to Govt Medical College Jammu in army chopper. |
