| GCW Parade organized program on 'Forest for Sustainable Livelihood' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 17: Awareness Campaign'2012 in collaboration with WWF-India, J&K today under its one component that is Awareness Generation amongst the students, teachers and the general public the college organized a guest lecture by Dr. R.S. Jasrotia, IFS. Prof.Mohan PAL Singh Isher. He appreciated the efforts of the College in the organization of such programs and said such issues relating to pollution, global warming, ozone depletion, climate change, loss of biodiversity, contamination of foodstuff etc. and counteractive methodologies there of need to be dealt with from time to time and the students should also be apprised about the present environmental scenario for a better future.
Subsequent to the lecture a really was organized in which students and staff took a round of the old city holding banners, posters and placards signifying the importance of forest and its Conversation.
The whole program was aimed at spreading knowledge regarding development and usage of eco-friendly techniques to ensure long-term conservation of natural resources which is imperative to the survival of all the life on the earth.Dr. Kiran Bakshi, principal of the College appreciated the effort of the students and the staff in talking initiative and organizing such activities which not only educated the students but useful in creating mass awareness.Dr,Pragya Khanna, the organizing Secretary of the program presented the welcome address. |
